Pygmy Indra Swallowtail [Papilio indra pygmaeus] Adult Insect Images

Images of Papilio indra pygmaeus (and other subspecies) from the L.A. Natural History Museum collection...

Note: many of the specimens in this section are mixed-up somewhat, and represent several indra subspecies. Exact identification will have to wait for a future visit to the museum in order to verify each specimen. Thanks to Dr. Wayne Whaley for his assistance in pointing-out the mix-up :-)

Additionally, Taxonomists have recently decided to rename this subspecies "parvindra", as the old name, "pygmaeus" had already been used (and then discarded) at some point in antiquity.
