New, hi-res images...
These specimens were collected on Frazier Mountain summit in Ventura Co., CA on August 25th, 2005. It was late in the season but this species was still flying strong and avidly visiting blooming Rabbit Bush. Mostly females were on the wing, but at least one male was taken as well. Their condition ranged from very fresh to several days old - a bit chipped and worn.
